Deep Tissue Massage

Deep tissue massage is a type of massage aimed at the deeper tissue structures of the muscle and fascia, also called connective tissue. Deep tissue massage uses many of the same movements and techniques as Swedish massage, but the pressure will generally be more intense. It is also a more focused type of massage, as the therapist works to release chronic muscle tension or knots (also known as "adhesions.")

Swedish Massage
Swedish massage combines deep tissue massage with therapeutic massage using soothing techniques and deep-tissue massage to ease tension from your muscles and stresses from the body.
Swedish massage combines various hands-on techniques including gliding, kneading, and cross-fiber friction to break up muscle knots. This massage promotes good circulation, muscle tone and toxin elimination.

Pregnancy Massage
Every pregnancy is uniqnue and the woman's body is constantly changing, physically and mentally. Pregnancy massage is aimed at ladies with uncomplicated pregnancies in their second and third trimesters. Pregnancy massage can help with back ache, neck ache, sleep deprivation associated with pregnancy insomnia and tired feet. Studies have shown that massage during pregnancy can decrease back and leg pain, improve sleep, reduce anxiety and improve mood. Pregnancy massage is done by side-lying on a massage couch. During a pregnancy massage the onus is always on comfort so a variety of positions can be used. The essential oils used can add an extra dimension to the treatment as they have healing properties which can benefit the body, i.e. Stretch marks, dry skin, reduce oedema and fluid retention.

Relaxation Massage
Relaxation is a treat yourself massage with the only aim to relax you. relaxation massage involves soft music, soft lighting and aromatherapy oils. You will have a long, luxurious massage which will use all kinds of techniques including long strokes, gentle kneading and rolling of skin and muscle, and perhaps some rhythmic rocking from side to side. This is the massage to choose if you just want to chill out, and be pampered and spoiled.

Hopi Ear:
Hopi candles can be used for many conditions including deafness caused by excess wax, congested sinuses, irritation In the ears, tinnitus, ringing or noises in the ears, rhinitis, glue ear, colds, flu, headaches and migraines. The candles acts as a vacuum in the ear canal so is very gentle as nothing enters the ear except the vapor.

Aftercare:
It is recommended that you have regular massages after your initial massage treatment to prevent your muscles from becoming hypertonic (too tight) again.
A regular massage can also promote muscle tone, fat reduction, lymph drainage and general well being.

It's important to drink a lot of water after a deep tissue massage to help flush lactic acid out of the tissues. If you don't, you might be sore the next day.
​
It's possible that you might feel some soreness the day after a sports/deep tissue masssge even if you DO drink water. This just means a lot of waste products were flushed out of the tissues. It should pass within 48 hours and make you feel better in the long term.
